Toronto Timeraiser 201

This March will mark Toronto Timeraiser's 9th annual silent art auction and they've just started looking for submissions!

If you aren't familiar with the Toronto Timeraiser, in a nutshell, it's a silent art auction. The big twist, however, is that rather than bid money, people bid volunteer hours. Winning bidders have one year to complete their pledge by volunteering with their various agencies within their respective city; once their pledge is fulfilled, they take home their artwork as a reminder of their goodwill.

ARTISTS! We're putting out a call for artists to submit! Applying is easy and free (see this FAQ for all questions). You simply upload 5 images of your art to their website, and then you'll get notified if your piece is chosen to be part.

Monorex + Sid Lee + The New BEAT = danleo

Sid Lee and Monorex approached The New BEAT about documenting Irish artist danleo's mural while he was in Toronto. Opening their second office space in Toronto, Sid Lee wanted to do something special. Not only was danleo commissioned to paint an amazing mural, but the painting went down during the Sid Lee staff party.

The piece turned out amazing, but don't believe us, check it for yourself!!

The success of their international touring has brought Ten Second Epic to a level of professionalism and poise. This title symbolizes a confidence in changing thier sound to a more rock vibe.  They want to proclaim that is 'better off' to do what you love. It is 'better off' to keep making music. It is 'better off' to follow the road before you. We support this passion & want to wish them luck with this huge release!

OTM Zine Launch!

We are so stoked to launch our newest website for the lovely people at OTM. Editors, Tara & Aimee were a joy to work with, and such inspiring young talents. Their motivation & hard work pays off as each article enthralls you with incredible photography and rich, current topics.
